The Massey Ferguson company has every possible reason to be proud. Recently, its MF7624 Dyna-VT model of tractor has won the Golden Tractor for Design award in the 2012 Tractor of the Year competition.
The award is presented every year by the jury of journalists working for 22 magazines, considered to be the European leaders in handling farming issues. Manufacturers have to refrain from entering the competition. The only way they stand a chance for the award is to be nominated by one of the judges.
According to Richard Markwell, the company’s vice president and managing director for Europe, Africa and Middle East, the whole event was very competitive this year as there were quite a few new tractors launched on the market in order to meet follow the new Stage 3b exhaust regulations.
The 7640 model is one of a four- model range spanning 185 to 235 hp (210 to 260 boosted) and equipped with a new, ergonomical cab and a 7.4 – litre AGCO SISU Power e3 second-generation SCR engine. Not only does the cab interior have high visibility, but also it is easy to operate owing to a new layout and simplified joysticks.

The Engineering Tchnology Group (EGT) is going to offer Taiwan Feeler brand machine tool, attempting to bridge the gap between high specification Chiron and Handtmann machine tools and low specification, low duty budget machines.
The range of the Feeler, produced by the Fair Friend Group, includes light, medium and heavy-duty vertical machining centres, drill-tap centres, long bed milling machines , 5 axis vertical machining centres and horizontal machining centres.
The Taiwan-based Group is now the largest machine tool producer in Greater China. They manufacture about 8,000 machines yearly out of which 5,000 remain vertical machining centres, which makes it the second biggest VMC producer in the world. Moreover, having 2,000 graduates who constitute 30% of its workforce, the company is likely to become the world's biggest tool producer within the next decade. It can already boast having such blue-chip customers as NASA, Boeing, Airbus, Siemens, BMW, Caterpillar, Toyota, VW, Ferrari and GM among others.
EGT chairman, Paul Rhodes is pleased to announce that Feeler machines are sure to appeal to customers, from small subcontract engineering companies to Tier One automotive and aerospace suppliers. „With Feeler, we can offer the market a full range from an entry-level machine all the way up to twin-pallet vertical machines, twin pallet horizontal machines and 5-axis machines for billet work”, Rhodes concludes.

Audi chooses Mexico over the USA as a place suitable for building its manufacturing plant, as we can learn from the German magazine, citing VW sources. According to Rupert Stadler, Audi CEO, whose comment was printed in Manager Magazin, the company wants a new factory in Mexico in order to produce the Q5 SUV.
Stadler’s comment doesn’t clarify, however, whether he is going to force his way over some of Volkswagen’s top managers’ position, as they would rather see Audi making use of the new VW plant in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
A spokesman for Audi has declined the comment on the report, yet he stated that a decision of car production in North America will be made before 2015. It’s worth mentioning that, unlike Mercedes-Benz and BMW, Audi does not have its own factory in the U.S. and the company has been long striving to have its own production facility there.
